Information We Collect
We collect what you tell us directly: the details you share about your days, your work, your room and what you are willing to do on camera. This is the material a direction is built from, so it is the core of what we hold.
We also collect information generated by your use of the service. That includes which directions we sent you, whether you posted them, and the numbers a post did afterwards. If you reach askOga through a messaging platform we receive the account identifier that platform gives us, such as a Telegram user ID and username.
We do not ask for and do not want government identification, financial account details beyond what a payment processor needs, or precise location.
How We Use Information
The main use is the product itself: matching a trending format to your actual life and writing a direction you would plausibly carry out.
We use what happened after you posted to adjust what we send next. If you post, later directions ask for a little more. If you leave several untouched, they ask for less. This adjustment is made from your behaviour rather than from a questionnaire, because self-reported answers about confidence are unreliable.
We also use information to operate the service, to communicate with you about your account, and to process payments where you are paying us.
Review confirm whether user content will be used to train or evaluate models, and say so plainly here either way. This is the question users care most about and the answer must be the true one.
Third-Party Services
We rely on other companies to run askOga: messaging platforms to reach you, model providers to generate directions, cloud infrastructure to host the service, and a payment processor to take payment. These providers handle data on our behalf under their own terms.
Review name each provider once chosen. A generic list is acceptable in a draft and is not acceptable at launch, and some of these disclosures are required rather than optional.
Data Retention
We keep your profile and history for as long as your account is open, because the service gets worse the moment it forgets what you have already tried. When you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, other than records we are required to keep for tax or legal reasons.
Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, and under other laws that may apply to you, you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to receive a copy of it, or to have it deleted. You can also object to certain uses and withdraw consent where our use rests on consent.
Ask us and we will action it. We will not make the service worse for you because you exercised a right.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, and we limit who on our side can read it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise.
Children's Privacy
askOga is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Review the age threshold is a real decision, not a formality. It interacts with the platforms we publish to and with the exposure the product asks of people.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. If a change materially affects you we will tell you directly rather than quietly changing the date at the top.
